Tough delicacy

It was a cold and dark evening. I walked along the road, stretching my legs before heading into the car. The nights were getting longer and longer, and this one, surrounded by big mountains, was going to be a dark one. No one around to be seen or heard. Just the beauty of the landscape, along with its harshness. A hard environment for such a deceptively fragile looking tree.
