I love making videos of my trips even though it's a lot of work. This one took me a bit more than 7 hours, but I’m finally done. It’s a bit long - 18 minutes. I could’ve made it shorter but the main reason why I even make them in the first place is to be able to watch them in 5, 10, 20 years and remember these moments. So I wanted to include a bit more than usual.
About the hike itself: this is day 1 of hiking to the Core Enchantments, one of the most beautiful places in the Pacific Northwest. Starting at Snow Lakes Trailhead due to a wildfire that kept Colchuck Lake closed, I hiked for 8 miles (~4,500 feet elevation gain) to my campsite for the night. I was very worried about the smoke ruining the whole thing, but at the end it was just fine.
I brought two new cameras along with me! A “toy” film camera, the Holga, and a new video camera - a Sony a6500. That means this is also my first video in 4k!
I'll be posting the contact sheets from this trip soon, and also some photos taken with the a6500.
