This time I do one of the most popular hikes in the Columbia Gorge, the Dog Mountain hike. With 7 miles round-trip and an elevation gain of 2,800 feet, it's not an easy hike and even less when you carry almost 30 pounds of camera gear, but it was a good training session for harder hikes coming up soon.
My first time hiking Dog Mountain, and I was carrying 25 pounds of camera gear. Probably not the best idea, but I had to train for harder hikes coming up pretty, pretty soon.
I found some cool weather on the top as some clouds were rolling in. If you are willing to hike for 3.5 miles to the top while climbing 2,800 feet, then this is your hike.
