"Crosses", Spain, July 2018. Image created with AOWS B&W Red Filter preset.

July 08, 2018 in journal

This is the preset I usually apply to my snapshots from documenting my life and the places I go to, images that are meant to be for me and don't require much farther editing.

This preset transforms your RAW files into a gritty and contrasty black and white image. It uses the Red Filter profile from Lightroom to further increase that look.

AOWS B&W Red Filter Preset can also be a good starting point for more serious work, but bear in mind that each image should be treated differently and you might not want to apply a preset at the beginning of the editing process.

You can download it for free by clicking on the button below. Instructions on how to import it into Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC are below as well.

How to import the preset into Lighroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC

On Lightroom CC, click on the Edit icon or press E to enter the edit mode. At the bottom of the editing panel, you'll find a label that says Presets. Click on there and a new panel will show up.

Then we need to click on the three dots, at the top of the new panel, and click on Import preset. Select the downloaded preset and it will be ready for you to use.

On Lightroom Classic CC, open the Develop mode by click on Develop (top right) or pressing D. On the left panel, you'll see a section called Presets. Click on the arrow at the right side and you'll see the option to import the AOWS B&W Red Filter Preset to your collection.

If you can't figure out how to import the preset, or you have any comment / suggestion, please drop me a line!
