Contact Sheets #48, #49 & #50: Holga and HP5+ at The Enchantments

September 30, 2017

I wasn't sure about posting these ones. The whole point about showing contact sheets is to explain my thought process when taking images. And these ones aren't a good example of that.

Almost all of them were taken in The Enchantments with the Holga, using HP5. If you've watched the videos, you know it was a hard hike for me so I had very little time and energy to think.

I started trying to photograph some trees around my campsite. Then I tried to capture the huge cloud of smoke from a wildfire that was clearly visible from camp. These two rolls were pushed to 800 during development.

The third and last one was developed at box speed, 400: it was very bright up in the Core Enchantments. Some photos show some weird flare just in the center of the frame. It didn't happen on the last 2 frames (taken days later in Mt Rainier National Park) so I can only assume the camera is fine but the lens doesn't handle flare that well.

But besides the flare issue, I am again very pleased with the results.

I'm including some of the images below. If you want to see some more Holga photos, you can visit my project The Holga Series.
