The storks are back, and I couldn't be happier about it. Plenty of photo opportunities, and a lot to learn from these beautiful birds.

Church in the city of sin
in photographs
Amsterdam, September 2019.
It feels like it happened a few lives ago, but it was just two and a half years ago that I was walking on the streets of Amsterdam.
No school today
in photographs
Indiana, January 2021.
There was no school on this day. The storm left quite a few inches of snow and kids were told to stay home, although many actually went outside to enjoy the fresh powder on the ground. I did too.
Morning by the lake

Glacier National Park, May 2021.
A beautiful and peaceful foggy morning by the lake. Watch my video from Montana: Photography in West Glacier National Park.
Most of my photography is practice
in journal
Photography can look very easy: after all, it only requires pressing a button. Truth is, making good images requires a lot of practice, time, hard work, and persistence. This is how I practice the craft every single day.
The road to the mountains
in photographs
Eastern Sierra, California, November 2020.
A dirt road heading to the mountains.
Holy shore
in photographs
Galicia, November 2021.
This is the Sil river, and the shore at this point is called "Ribeira Sacra" in Galician, which means "Holy Shore". Holy not because of the incredible views, or the amazing wine that they make here, but apparently because of all the churches and monasteries that once existed around here. Most of them still stand today.
Stork souls
in photographs
Galicia, February 2020.
An image made a few weeks before everything went crazy. These storks were a great subject during the lockdown of 2020, and I can't wait to photograph them again now that they are back from their annual migration.
I can't believe it's been 2 years since I made this image, though...
Cave and Windmill
in photographs
La Mancha, December 2021.
In the foreground, the front wall and the entrance to an old "cave", where people lived a long time ago. In the background, the windmill they used to grind wheat to make flour.
Ruins of Lake Michigan
in photographs
Lake Michigan, April 2021.
One of my favorite images of 2021. In fact, it was April's Image of the Month. An image made during a camping trip to beautiful Sleeping Bear Dunes.
A dance of trees, image II

Madeira, November 2021.
Have you missed my trip to the beautiful forest of Fanal, in Madeira?
Thank you for 2021

The night of the sheep

Galicia, September 2021.
One of my favorite images of the year, one I made during an evening walk. I'm so glad I had my camera with me!
Windmills under the fog rainbow
in photographs
La Mancha, December 2021.
One of those magical moments to be grateful for. On my very last day photographing these windmills, the fog showed up transforming the whole landscape. As beautiful as everything was, things got even better with the appearance of this beautiful rainbow. It quickly went away, but I was lucky enough to capture it.
Image of the Month, October 2021: "Mt Hood Wilderness"
in journal
After spending a night up in Mt Hood, I was on my way down when I stumbled upon this beautiful view of the Newtown Creek and its canyon. The light was incredible, bathing an already stunning landscape with some magic.
A "last minute" image on a backpacking trip that almost didn't happen: sandwiched in between a windstorm and a snowstorm, the window for me to finally sleep next to the beautiful volcano was very, very narrow.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
in photographs
Indiana, January 2021.
Last year's Christmas was a white one in Indiana, when I made this image. This year's is a bit different, wet and much warmer. No matter the weather you have these days, I hope you all have a great time and take appreciation on what you've done this year.
Rocky forest
in photographs
Colorado, September 2020.
The Rocky Mountains welcomed me with a very early snowfall, at the beginning of September. I couldn't have asked for better conditions, as fresh snow covered the mountains, and the fog swallowed the forest.

Every morning
in photographs
Galicia, December 2021.
We had some lovely foggy mornings last week, and I tried to make the most of them. So much that I felt a bit relieved when I woke up this morning to a clear sky. For the first time in more than a week, I was able to enjoy my morning coffee and take it easy with breakfast. As I called it before, it's a blessing... and a curse.
