Ruins of Lake Michigan

January 01, 2022 in photographs

Lake Michigan, April 2021.

One of my favorite images of 2021. In fact, it was April's Image of the Month. An image made during a camping trip to beautiful Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Windmills under the fog rainbow

December 28, 2021 in photographs

La Mancha, December 2021.

One of those magical moments to be grateful for. On my very last day photographing these windmills, the fog showed up transforming the whole landscape. As beautiful as everything was, things got even better with the appearance of this beautiful rainbow. It quickly went away, but I was lucky enough to capture it.

Image of the Month, October 2021: "Mt Hood Wilderness"

December 27, 2021 in journal

After spending a night up in Mt Hood, I was on my way down when I stumbled upon this beautiful view of the Newtown Creek and its canyon. The light was incredible, bathing an already stunning landscape with some magic.

A "last minute" image on a backpacking trip that almost didn't happen: sandwiched in between a windstorm and a snowstorm, the window for me to finally sleep next to the beautiful volcano was very, very narrow.

two sizes

Remember: there are two sizes to choose from, 6x6 and 8x8 (inches). In both cases, the matt and frame are 12x12 (this means a bigger margin for the 6x6 print).

Shipping is free to the US now. International shipping is a flat rate of $19.95.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

December 24, 2021 in photographs

Indiana, January 2021.

Last year's Christmas was a white one in Indiana, when I made this image. This year's is a bit different, wet and much warmer. No matter the weather you have these days, I hope you all have a great time and take appreciation on what you've done this year.

Rocky forest

December 23, 2021 in photographs

Colorado, September 2020.

The Rocky Mountains welcomed me with a very early snowfall, at the beginning of September. I couldn't have asked for better conditions, as fresh snow covered the mountains, and the fog swallowed the forest.

Every morning

December 20, 2021 in photographs

Galicia, December 2021.

We had some lovely foggy mornings last week, and I tried to make the most of them. So much that I felt a bit relieved when I woke up this morning to a clear sky. For the first time in more than a week, I was able to enjoy my morning coffee and take it easy with breakfast. As I called it before, it's a blessing... and a curse.

Not a roman bridge

December 18, 2021 in photographs

Galicia, December 2021.

I grew up calling this bridge "The Roman Bridge". Everyone around here still calls it "The Roman Bridge". But it is not Roman at all; it was actually built in medieval times, around 500 years ago. Still old, but not that old.

Today, it's one of my favorite subjects to photograph in the fog.

Cave by the sea

December 17, 2021 in photographs

Madeira, November 2021.

I guess technically a tunnel (or an arch), not a cave, but it did have the feeling of one. I went with a long exposure to make the water look as still as possible, and also to make the ocean in the background a bit less distracting. Long exposures have that ability of making even the most dramatic scenes look peaceful and calm.

Does this lens deserve a spot in my camera bag? ~ Meike 50mm f/1.2

December 16, 2021 in journal

I might have a replacement to my beloved 35mm f/1.4, a lens that stopped working a few weeks ago. Let's find out if it meets all my requirements to be in my camera bag!

The tree at the side of the road

December 16, 2021 in photographs

Galicia, December 2021.

A scene I walk by many, many times. It's always beautiful, but it really comes alive when there's thick fog. And that's what I got this morning: lots and lots of fog.

Windmills of Criptana

December 13, 2021 in photographs

Campo de Criptana, La Mancha, December 2021.

Another image from my trip to La Mancha. Now that I find myself with quite a few images of the same subject, I understand why some artists just go for "Study number X" as the title. It's a struggle to find a unique description for each one of them! I personally don't like the word study, but I might have to come up with something soon.
